What do you remember about the Balkan wars? . I remember that it was freelance reporters who first brought the story of this civil war to world attention. Freelancers went where the highly paid media outlet reports wouldn't and showed the stark scenes of man's inhumanity to man. . As a big believer in freedom of the press, I was fascinated by the work of freelancers in the Balkans.
